🔗🌟 For everyone who has ever wondered whether they are “queer enough.”
What happens when you know you are queer, but the world keeps reading your life as straight?
In this episode of Deep and Dirty, I talk to Rebecca Minor, a therapist, gender specialist, queer person in a straight-assumed marriage, and co-founder of bi+ (in)visibility.
We talk about the quiet inner questions so many bi+ people carry:
Am I queer enough? Does my identity still count if I am in a relationship with a man? Do I need to act on every desire for it to be real? What if I only found the words later in life?
Rebecca brings such clear, gentle language to something that often feels difficult to explain. One of the most powerful things she says is that your actions do not determine your identity. You can be bi, queer, pan, questioning, exploring, married, monogamous, a parent, unsure, private, loud, visible, or still finding your way. Your identity is still yours.
We also talk about motherhood, partners, bisexual men, shame, community, queer books, fantasy, pleasure, and the small first steps that can open a much bigger door.
This episode is for anyone who has ever felt something inside them and wondered whether it was allowed to matter.
Maybe the first step is not a dramatic coming out. Maybe it is imagining what your life would look like if you were known a little more fully. Maybe it is telling one person. Maybe it is joining a community. Maybe it is buying the vibrator. Maybe it is simply admitting to yourself: this is part of me.
And if you would want your child to love whoever they love and be whoever they are, maybe you deserve to show them that this is possible.
